Last Night at the Christmas Party
Me: Your co-worker just called me ma'am. Does that mean I'm old, or is he just polite?
Joe: He's just polite.
Me: Good answer.
Joe: He's just polite.

was he just a snot-nosed young kid?
it always hurts a little when a kid calls me ma'am.
He was maybe 5 years younger than me. It's pretty common to say that around here. Once when I was a kid I said "yes, ma'am" to my northern aunt. She asked my parents if I was mad at her.
You are in the south ya'll.
Is this the same Christmas party in which you gave us the full amazing menu??? Where are the photos? How was the meal?
BTW I haven't been called ma'am once here in California, but I get it all the time back in Texas, so it must just be a Southern thing.
The food was pretty good and the location was just amazing. On the top floor of a skyscraper with a wall of windows. (I only took one picture.)
